About Me

Hi I’m Ashley and my passion is travel. For the past 4 years I have been planning amazing vacations for clients, helping make their dream trips a reality. I discovered my love for travel and adventure at a young age with many family driving vacations to Alberta, BC and Florida.

The most adventurous family vacation was to Mexico in the late 90’s, my parents planned a 2-week road trip for our family of 6! As a 13 year old I experienced real Mexican culture, food, the beautiful countryside and beaches. One night we stayed in a small guesthouse in Troncones, this was a truly unique experience. A small village located on the Pacific coast of Mexico, with all dirt roads, a population of maybe 200 people, chickens and pigs roaming free and the most beautiful beach I had ever seen, an untouched paradise!

I was hooked on travelling and wanted to see the World! By the time I was 15, I was off to Switzerland with a group of complete strangers through Girl Guides of Ontario. The sense of adventure I felt waking up in a farmer’s barn at 2am ready to climb to the summit of a mountain to witness the sunrise. A feeling I will never forget.

At 16, Costa Rica was ticked off the list, planting trees, zip lining and exploring the cloud forests with a geography class.  The ocean kayaking excursion that took us to untouched beaches was amazing. After high school graduation I was off again, this time within Canada to explore this great country. For the next 3 years I worked at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in Banff and explored everything the Rocky Mountains could offer; snowboarding, snowshoeing, hiking, dog sledding, camping and many road trips throughout Alberta and British Columbia. I made great friends from all over the world and these friends are always willing to have a Canadian visitor!

My next trip was a big one, Australia! I booked a flight and applied for a Working Holiday Visa, I was planning on staying for 6 months. In 18 months I had seen most of what Australia had to offer from underwater life on the Great Barrier Reef, to the Northern Territory and Red Centre – from Adelaide to Darwin, West to Perth and south to Sydney and Melbourne.

I enjoyed a 6 week trip to Thailand, Malaysia and Laos during my time living in Australia.  Scuba diving in Koh Tao, the full moon party in Koh Phangan and busy streets of Bangkok are all highlights of my trip to Thailand. Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia is a busy city, the PETRONAS Towers are a must see! The country of Laos is often forgotten, I think it is a must-see when visiting Southeast Asia! Vientiane, the capital city, has many interesting museums, great culture and history as you walk through the streets. We also had the chance to visit Vang Vieng for tubing before the strict changes. Floating on an inner tube down a beautiful river surrounded by lush tropical rain forest and many makeshift bars along the banks that reel you in for a drink or 2.

Once I returned from Australia I decided to enter into Westervelt’s Travel and Tourism program. I graduated with honours and just 6 months later had landed my dream job.

Most recently I escorted a group to Peru, we hiked the Inca Trail, visited Machu Picchu, explored the Amazon basin and went sand boarding on the dunes of Ica. In August, I visited Iceland, one of the most popular new destinations.  I went snorkelling in a fissure in the rift, experienced my first helicopter tour and went caving in lava tubes, just to name a few!

It is experiences like these that give me the desire to talk about my passion for travel. I love what I do, and sharing these experiences with people is so rewarding.

Future trips will include – Sailing the Galapagos Islands, hiking Mt. Kilimanjaro, trekking with the gorillas in Uganda, visiting Fiji and the Cook Islands – just to name a few.
